The first Ars Electronica begins on September 18, 1979. 20 artists and scientists from all over the world gather at this new “Festival for Art, Technology and Society” in Linz to discuss the Digital Revolution and its possible consequences.
In 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event became internationalized and digitally reached all corners of the world. And ThePowerHouse collaborated and was the official organizer of the event in Portugal, in the city of Porto, organizing a digital event with a series of roundtables that addressed the most different subjects, from artificial intelligence, to space matters to the launching of trend reports focused on the uncertainty of the present.
