Discussing the future of fashion education at CENTRO in Mexico.
In an era characterized by rapid technological progress and change, the fashion industry is lagging behind. It is a great opportunity for the fashion market to reinvent itself and embrace a brave new world. By incorporating technology in materials and its manufacturing process, we can improve efficiency, profitability, and sustainability. In an age of climate crisis, questioning ‘who will make these necessary changes happen’ is more urgent than ever.
That was the mindset which led our CEO and Founder, Lisa Lang, to Mexico as FashionTech Expert Adviser, invited by the CENTRO institute. Among conferences and workshops, she taught fashion technology designers and inspired the next generation to think about what are we going to wear on Mars and what’s next for the future of fashion.
Considering the intersections between fashion and technology, and current trends regarding wearable technologies, smart textiles manufacturing and sustainability, Lisa Lang reflected on the history of innovation in fashion and what has recently worked in the sphere of fashion tech. These topics were developed to explain why wearable technology is indispensable in contemporary society. The conference called “What are we going to wear on Mars?” was part of the Global Fashion Management, Textile and Fashion Programs at CENTRO.
