From 25 to 27 November, the Finnish presidency hosted the SME Assembly 2019, promoted by the European Commission, in Helsinki. The event gathered participants from across the globe to discuss and innovate within the entrepreneurial and policy spheres.
Our CEO and founder, Lisa Lang, was on stage for the closing ceremony of the assembly, and presented creative and innovative insights from the textile industry. Doing a journey through history and the past to find the future, she told the stories behind the first space suit, the invention of the zipper, and more, showing inspiration for what we will wear tomorrow.

Among the speakers at the SME Assembly 2019, there were names like Mariana Mazzucato, Daniel Isenberg, Alberto Onetti, Jyrki Katainen and Kristin Schriber, along with many other experts. Alongside the busy program of the assembly, we had the chance to watch Mariana Mazzucato, from University College London, in her Schumpeter Innovation in Enterprise lecture. “Impatient capital is the death of innovation”, said Mazzucato, in a very strong statement and inspiring conclusion about the future of entrepreneurship in our current system.
You can see Mariana Mazzucato’s full lecture here and the main highlights of SME Assembly 2019 in the video below:
